New Year's Eve is actually worse than Christmas Holidays. Ok, there are couples and young families which don't care about it. However, the hour between the years seems to be a really sad moment for the seeking people. I'm not that sure why. It also happens when they have had a year with many good moments and reasons to smile and feeling alive. Furthermore there are some points they can looking forward. The switch from the old to the new year is maybe something like a magic moment when you really need feeling secure. If you haven't yet arrived in this mood, you feel the sadness about it very clearly in this moment .
What do you think about this phenomenon?

I always feel reflective, and sometimes sad at the New Year as well. No matter how wonderful a year, there are always regrets, disappointed hopes, and things gone wrong. Moving into a new year invites us to look back, to reflect on the old and acknowledge some of the sadness and grief. If we have lost a friend or lover we think, "Now I go forward into a year without him..." or "I did not do all I had hoped to do." We all have to take deep breaths and move forward, hopefully with lessons learned, and an openness to new adventures and surprises... Just a few little thoughts.
