presence without speaking - results of an experiment

People, it was amazing!

On Thuesday I had nothing to say.

...and I said nothing, except for "Ow!", "I haven't seen this. Sorry." and "Bye". These words came spontaneous without realizing, what's going on. Is'nt it remarkable, how strong the urge is to comment sth., to beg off and to justify oneself!

  • Immediately when I waked up and remembered my decision to stay silent one day long it was quiet in my heat. It was absolutely peaceful not only in my heat, but also in my whole body, which was like a rest vessel.
  • After approx. 12 hours it happens that my inner silence beganns droning and thumping. With hindsight it reminds me a little bit of the novel "Schlafes Bruder" (in English: Brother of Sleep). (I'm a little ashamed of this comparison, however this 10 minutes experience was very impressing for me.)

Furthermore it was very interesting to observate my environment and the reactions of people around me.
  • I noticed, if you are silent, people are silent back. Very funny. Everything and everybody were quieter.
  • They were more pacific. They want less - less from me. I received the impression they scale down their expectations. That was very restful for me.
  • They were more carefully to me. They had to observate me thorough to get informations from me. (It makes clear, how valuable it could be for couples. It's a very intimate kind of spending attention to the partner)
And last but not least, I scale down my own requirements to me and to my environment.

By the way, the silent joke has something special. The humor of a silent movie has a forgotten and extraordinary Quality. I had to laugh so much.

Ein interessantes Projekt, aber sehr schade für Deine Mitmenschen! Ich denke die meisten hören Dich sehr gerne reden.
