A friend of mine, who lives in Switzerland since a while, says you can only shot kitschy photos in these countryside. I'm always surprised that you need only one day off there to calm completely down.
Welcome to a world full of sun spots! It's about Love, Life, Fairy Tales, Useless Things and a little bit philosophical Thoughts. And 2009 it's a lot about Sydney and Australia.
PS: Here are also some english posts with the label "please in english". Find out that life is really a box of chocolates!

Appell betreffs Handschuhproblematik

Slow motion of the white
I like the dazzling/ dazlious white very much. It's really really wintertime! In Weimar is it very seldom. I like:
- the noise by walking through the frozen snow
- to jump into a big mountain of snow and leap from snowdrift to snowdrift
- painting a large sun in the snow and giggling, when a friend notice the snow planet out of her window
- dicover that doves obvously are cold. They puff up till they look like grey snow balls.
- to discuss how arise icicles and what excactly hoar frost is
- to notice that a collegue, who's from siberia, is feeling lucky at last because of the snow
- the traffic and the people are moving slower and calming down. Everything is in slow motion.

Important tricks for the folk
I love to hear historical stories about tricks to make people believe in something good. For example I heard the story about the elephants on the Brooklyn Bridge. When the bridge was new build New York’s habitants didn’t believe in its stability. When people saw the 21 elephants, which a circus let crossing the bridge, everything was all right.
Another story is the story about the potato in Western Europe. I've heard it many years ago. I think it was Frederick the Great (Friedrich der Große) who was tricky to the farmers in Prussia. He declared that the potato is only intended for the nobility and had been guard the potato fields by soldiers. In this way he makes absolute sure that farmers wanted nothing more than stealing the valuable fruit, cultivate and eat it in secret. So he had rescued his folk from a famine.

New Year's Eve Blues
New Year's Eve is actually worse than Christmas Holidays. Ok, there are couples and young families which don't care about it. However, the hour between the years seems to be a really sad moment for the seeking people. I'm not that sure why. It also happens when they have had a year with many good moments and reasons to smile and feeling alive. Furthermore there are some points they can looking forward. The switch from the old to the new year is maybe something like a magic moment when you really need feeling secure. If you haven't yet arrived in this mood, you feel the sadness about it very clearly in this moment .
What do you think about this phenomenon?

German Time is Winter Time
I can't get that's hot summer in Sydney and people on facebook are talking about their sunburn. Because of that and because I know a lot of people from Brazil and maybe Mexico are jealous of our seasons and loads of snow, I went for a walk on sunday. Here is a small conclusion of winter impressions from the last two years.
